The challenge isn’t the early hour itself, it’s the self-knowledge that I don’t *need* to wake up early. (Or so I tell myself.)
Back when I was commuting, I had no problem getting up at 5 am, or sometimes even leaving home at 5 am, because there was a solid reason: if I don’t, I get stuck in traffic. But now, despite feeling much better when I wake up at 6 am, I don’t.
I love the morning hours. I am wayyy more productive when I wake up at 6 am, even when I end up taking a nap at 9am. So maybe I need to make myself need to wake up at 6 am more. 😂 Because, simply saying “I will wake up at 6 am” didn’t work, because that statement alone doesn’t have the power; I have the power, and I know that I don’t really need to. So maybe as an in-between step, I will tell myself “Waking up at 9 am is like sitting in morning traffic. It’s a total waste of life.”
