❤️ Shifting priorities.

With these new endeavors on Youtube that I mentioned on the newsletter, I might not be blogging daily anymore.

I have also definitely decided that Way Station 417 will not have a Korean translation right now. This likely means that it will never have a translation done by me. I just cannot imagine ever going back to a story I engaged with 3, 4, 5 years ago. 3, 4, 5 years later, there will be a million new stories to tell. There will be formats that have never existed before.

But who knows. Maybe sooner rather than later, there will be a type of tech, where I can input millions of English words and their Korean word pairs, translated manually by me. Then the tech/tool will create a usable first draft from English to Korean. Presently, this is absolutely not possible. But yeah, I’ve been a translator for over ten years and translation has always been discussed as the field where tech will replace everyone, so we’ll see. I do not think translation is in the suffering, so I would welcome a usable first draft. The actual translation happens in the nuance anyway.
