💧 What a waste of lives.

So, for the mindless freelance work thing that I’ve mentioned a few times. In general, I love it for its mindlessness. I don’t have to think much at all while doing it, which is exactly what I enjoy as a counterbalance to other, more thought-requiring activities I enjoy in my life.

But sometimes there is shit content in that work, content with a different kind of mindlessness, a destructive kind of mindlessness. This is mindlessness that isn’t peaceful rest; this is mindlessness where some rando “celebrities” and “influencers” show up and hold up this or that random sponsored product that nobody needs, and then, in actuality, in real-time as they are recording that content, thousands of people go to physical stores and buy said random sponsored product.

This type of narrative makes me feel physically sick. Literally and physically sick. It is sickening that some people sit there with nothing better to do than to watch other people sell useless products to them. Actually, they yearn for random celebrities and influences to tell them what to buy. They love it! They want to be told what useless shit to buy, so they can complain tomorrow that they have no money and no time.

I want a world that isn’t sick. At the very least, if someone chooses to be manipulated into having nothing better to do than to consume what they tell them to consume, there should be no market for such people. They can be sick all they want, but there should be no market that supports the sickness, making even more people sick.
