🛠️ The boredom of Facebook’s wonkiness.

Once upon a time, I couldn’t run ads because I thought I couldn’t. There wasn’t one particular “couldn’t,” there were many different “couldn’ts.” For example, there is no money, it won’t be profitable, what if people hate ads in general, what if people hate me or my books specifically, etc, etc.

Now I am not in that state anymore. However, since late last year or so, I’ve noticed how boring Facebook ads have become for me because the interface is so wonky. As in, initially, the main fun was in the fact that I had gotten over my own limitations. I had transformed from someone who couldn’t ads because she was scared to someone who could run ads just because. (This is a big deal!) But now, that transformation factor has faded, and I’m so okay with Facebook ads, I don’t see the value in dealing with its wonkiness.

And “wonky” is a euphemism, because so many of their features are nonsensical and don’t work. For example, a feature that the user turned off will suddenly have turned itself back on. This is alarming. And I don’t want to bother with checking a campaign every day or every week or whatever. This desire to not bother with Facebook has gotten more intense in January and February, as I have seen posts in Facebook groups (groups, IMO are the most useful features of Facebook) about “Facebook’s feature x, y, and z are broken once more!” Such posts pop up literally every week.

So… maybe in Q3 or Q4 this year I will check in again… when Facebook… maybe… doesn’t have so many seizures anymore?
