🪟 An open internet.

A long time ago, I was interested in this thing called coil.com. It has shut down several years ago, but the idea was that the whole web could be monetized with a single subscription, instead of what we have now (as then)–twenty million different subscriptions for twenty million different services.

With the recent Amazon price-fixing allegations, I am yearning for something like Coil more and more. The worst/funniest part is that I don’t even consider Amazon to be the Big Enemy. As in, I absolutely do not want to go back to the older alternatives, especially for publishing. The older variants are even more spineless. I have zero interest in their opinions. In fact, I run in the opposite direction when they claim that something is “Good.”

For related reasons, I pretty much stopped listening to music.
