Some shearing videos are very painful to watch. Clearly, shearing is a very difficult job to do, and it shows; most people I’ve seen online manhandle these animals because that’s the only way they know how to shear.
Meanwhile, the ladies of this channel? The opposite. I am so glad that they’re actually the first people I’ve seen shearing any animal. Thanks to them, I knew, before I saw the painful videos, that gentle shearing while communicating with the animals is possible.

These two channels have been popping up in my algorithm loooong before I started taking the current WIP in the direction of fabric. (Fabric is one of the motifs; the core idea that makes this WIP one WIP despite the many iterations is something else.)
Anyway, the most predominant fabric in the novel is wool. Partly, it turned out this way because, early on, I decided to use wadmal as a motif. But long before wadmal in my story, there were these channels and their videos.
