👂 Airpods are amazing.

To be more precise, Airpods Pro 3. I’m not sure how much of a difference there is between regular Airpods and Airpods Pro.

Anyway, I mainly use my Airpods for ANC (active noise cancellation). It is superb. I don’t listen to anything much these days, I want to stop the sounds. I don’t want ambient music or rain sounds. I just want NO NOISE, and wow, Airpods do that. Absolutely fantastic.

I am working way more steadily because of this. (It’s been about 3 weeks since I got these.) It used to be that, it’s very tiring for the ears to be listening to constant pink noise or white noise or rain sound or wind sound; it’s also inefficient not to control noise in some way, because one stupid honk can rob me of hours of easy, good concentration if it happens at a bad timing. (This hasn’t happened to me that often, but I would hate for it to happen again.)

Now, armed with my Airpods–I am practically invincible. Granted, if ANC is used for too long, that, too, doesn’t feel 100% great. I think it’s because having something in my ears, constantly, doesn’t feel that great. But then, it’s not like I write (fiction) 10 hours every day. I cannot, because I do not want to. As long as I take a few breaks here and there when I write (fiction) 0-4 hours a day, I feel fine. I tend to not use ANC when I’m doing miscellaneous stuff, like writing this blog post, for example.

I love Apple. I have never been disappointed by Apple products the way I have been frequently disappointed by Windows and Android devices. The iPad Air 3 that I got in 2019 or so–it is still totally solid. I use this iPad for drafting. I also use this iPad for editing–basically, for as many tasks as possible. It keeps me waayayyyayay more concentrated than any desktop/laptop. It also hurts my eyes less.

I love my iPad. 😭 As I am writing this, I am suddenly overwhelmed with appreciation. I hope I can use it for another 6, 7 years. I hope it lasts forever.
