I am liking this refreshed blog setup. I am scheduling a post a day, maximum. (Could be less frequent than a post a day.)
What I would like to do now is to also refresh the newsletter in some way. This is trickier, because I’ve always had this idea that entering someone’s email inbox is a big deal. If it were the physical world, I would be visiting you with wine and fruits. So, if I’m going to email you something, that letter needs to have important information. I don’t want the newsletter to feel obviously forced. As in, I don’t want it to feel as if I sent it out just because it’s supposed to be weekly. (Imagine a person visiting you weekly because they think they must visit you weekly, when in actuality, you would rather have your peace and quiet in your lovely home.)
I think it helps that with blogs, there are so many examples of what I like. Most any blogs that I remember at all have one thing in common: they update daily. (Now, whether or not I myself attempt a daily blog, at any given time, has been a different matter.) Even if there is zero “important information,” I prefer a frequently-updated blog over a blog that updates every month.
With newsletters, it’s the opposite.
