🗄️ System refresh.

The best lifestyle can get stale and numbing when its stuck to for too long, too mindlessly. I’m talking about little things like which planner I use, whether I use digital/paper calendars, whether I use checklists at all, etc. Those little lifestyle choices start acting like inertia. Good thing is that, usually, all it takes is some little change to refresh everything.

Right now I’m trying to make my handwriting prettier. It’s something I haven’t tried, ever, because I kinda don’t care about handwriting prettiness itself. I rarely read anything handwritten again; mostly handwritten things are for a given day, a given moment, and that’s it. Even my diaries, either I throw them away or, even if I keep them, I don’t sit there and go through them. There would be too much to read; if I were to re-read even a small portion of what I’ve written, I wouldn’t be writing new things.

BUT. The pretty handwriting is for the present moment. I have noticed that after a stable period of good mood (which indicates that I’m not holding undesirable delusional thoughts), a “bad mood” period arrives. And this has nothing to do with “actual” bad things happening or me turning to delusional thinking. Rather, it happens because I got so used to the good mood. So the good mood became the new status quo. Now, sometimes, new exciting things happen, and that’s nice, but there isn’t even a need to *make* such new things happen, is what I’m saying. Just paying more attention to my handwriting is showing promise. Any method based on a similar logic would work: paying attention to the smell of your lotion, or something like that. Nothing “new” has entered life, but it’s new nonetheless. Trying to make my handwriting pretty makes me go “Oooohhh I’m writing…! Oooohhh!”
